The SIGGRAPH computer animations festival will announce its winners this year during a ceremony in Vancouver in August. 77 films will displayed during the festival, and the final award nominees were selected by a panel of industry experts from a total of 891 entries from 44 countries. The quality and technical expertise of the submissions advances each year, and pushes the limits of innovation in the field of animation.

The finalists represent how far the computer animation industry has come since the festival first debuted at SIGGRAPH in 1999. The Festival is recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and several of the works presented in the past have been nominated for Academy Awards. This year the festival will offer daily screenings and its famous Electronic Theater, where attendees can catch an inside glimpse of how the films were made.
