Animations Competition
The 2011 GRAPHIC animations competition in Sydney, Australia will feature a $20,000 prize. The competition will be held at the Sydney Opera House, as part of their GRAPHIC 2011 arts festival which features animation, music and storytelling. Artists of all levels are encouraged to enter the competition, and the $20,000 prize is designated for professional development of the winning concept. The winner will also have their entry shown during the festival's headline ceremony on August 21.
Entries will be voted on by the public to narrow the field, and finalists will be judged by industry experts. There will be three rounds which will all be broadcast on a dedicated YouTube Channel, featuring 30 second animation shorts based on this year's theme, which is "escape." The pieces must also include a sound-bite from the award-winning musician Gotye.
