Adobe Launches New Animations Tool

Adobe has launched a new animations tool that will create animations without flash.
This new tool is called Adobe Edge and it will create animations using no flash; but will make web animations using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript. It is not a replacement for Flash yet. But it is a close competitor of Flash in the same company.
With Edge creating animations, Adobe can regain its position in the market, especially after Apple and Microsoft phones not having Flash compatibility. Edge's public preview can be accessed at Adobe Labs site and it is free of charge. "With Flash, we're focused on the upper echelon of rich interactivity – gaming apps, rich media apps, including video, and data driven apps. But some of the things that were originally done with Flash we now see being done in HTML5 and JavaScript like creating animations" says Paul Gubbay, Adobe's vice president of engineering, design, and web.
